Skip bright, saturated colors like neon green, hot pink, or intense purple. They fade unevenly, clash with most neighborhoods, and appeal to very few buyers.
Pure white needs care too. It shows dirt and mildew more than off-white or warm neutrals, a real issue in dusty, high-pollen areas of Utah. True black absorbs a lot of heat and can wear down certain siding materials faster.
Also avoid colors tied to a specific design era, like certain bold blues or oranges. They date a home quickly and can hurt resale value.
Better choice: versatile neutrals, muted earth tones, or classic grays and blues. They age well, suit more home styles, and perform better at resale.
